Our heroes run away when hit. This is INCREDIBLY obnoxious. Especially if your trying to tank or using a short range mage. Sure you can give them a command to walk forward or something to avoid it, but sometimes they still slip through and make you run back. I've died MANY times because my mage ran backwards automatically and caused a heal to miss or something similar. (And in my last game I was trying to pull aggro on the enemies and one of them hit me causing me to run while the other 10 shot and instant killed the Paladin.)

So yeah, please remove this if at all possible.

Or even better add a command to toggle it. I've played games where you can toggle on/off auto-attack, so I would think this would be possible as well.

And I agree as a tank I usually have to hold position after every shot if I don't want to move, would be nice if I could just turn it off. But fragile hero's would probably still want to have this.

You can't toggle that setting during a game.

Its the "Can Flee" value in the object editor.

Actually, I played a game similar to this one that actually sparked the idea. In that one, you did not run, and it was horrible. If you want to stand there, then after using [A], press [H]!

To me this fleeing is a feature that makes this game great, and as far as I know, Pythagoras is correct. It is either one or the other. So the function will remain.
