I played that, but I couldn't select a hero.


Basically the creeps started spawning and fighting but we couldn't get heroes, nor could we check the quests for info on how to start it.


The host was going mad with "-go, -start, etc" lol.

The difficulty seems way out of wack right now too. It needs some balancing and stuff. Fun game though.

That's a bug actually. It happened when Zync hosted it too. I think maybe it happens when there's too many people in the game (10+ or so), though I'm not sure. It always worked for me though if I left the last 4 slots or so closed.

Yes, there does seem to be some issue with the number of players causing some sort of failure to start the player-based triggers that I have not figured out yet. I've run into it once or twice, I'll keep looking for it in the code... for now, keep the game to about 8 players, for I've never had an issue with it with more than 8.

To answer previous questions; no, I generally don't host sites for my maps. If people like it enough to host one, than I say go for it. In SinisteRing's case, he emailed be about his "unofficial" forum and asked me check it out, mentioning that he'd like to make it the "official" forums if I it was alright with me. I took a look and gave him the OK.
In truth, I don't like hosting web pages, and wouldn't want to keep up with both a map and a web page for it. So if there is ever a page for it, it won't be by me, lol.

I think the last version I hosted, I believe "Beta 4.8", is fairly stable (except for the player number bug). You can find it in the Gnome database, but if you want, I can post it on EpicWar when I get home. Remember that it's still Beta, but feel free to email me about bugs. The only bug I know of is the player number one, so any discovery of others will be appreciated.

The map tells my email in what normally is the "Upkeep" section of the interface in the upper right corner of the screen (as all my maps do).

Off topic: Card Shuffle just had a huge comeback on bnet over the past few weeks, Ive seen it hosted a ton of times and started playing it a lot. Cept I sort of dominate so hard its kind of unfair. My deck has a single summon in it and the rest random effects. Mass possesion anybody?

Back on topic: Never played your new game, as this is the first ive heard of it. Im going to dl it off of epic right now and go into bnet and try it out with some friends if any are on.

Mass possesion is a card?!
I declare HACKED, lol. I would never put anything like that in the game. Even I wouldn't screw it up that badly...

And tell me how your games of Metal And Magic go. Especially if the map has bugs or whatnot.

Lol no, no no mass possesion isnt a card but I just use a strategy of mass possesion pretty much lol. I didn't get a chance to try out M&M this afternoon but if I have time tomorrow ill give it a shot.

Yes, you should even state abuseable bugs here. We are trustworthy people with the best interest of the map in mind, not the type who abuse things. Anyway, you can always just click the little box below any of Zync's posts that says "PM" to send him a Private Message.
