Hello fellow gamers; I apologize in advance if my English is a little rusty, though I (along with many other people) have been forum stalking this site for countless months, having its ups and downs we all shared joy and disappointment with every game release and every failure in the system (respectively, at least) and feel as though I should share what has built up over this long period of time (almost years). I would like to share a small story and end on a happy note, sorry if it seems dull, I just thought I would share since this site has gone to pieces and I suppose Zync deserves the gratification.
I remember when my best friends and I first discovered the wonders of Warcraft 3 mods, along with the whole game itself and to its extent we found MM&M back in 2008. We spent sleepless nights playing that game with a growing underground fan mass, we made dozens of friends and kept it strong among us. Through the latest releases we noticed that Zync's save engine was the best in existence and always has been, sure MM&M didn't have a fancy HUD or massive constructed engines, however the game was more fulfilling then all the other games that tried to stay in its wake. My friends and I even hosted LAN parties where we connected all our computers and cracked open a few cases of cream coda and stayed up all night fighting in the never-ending war scenes, those were the good ol' days, in fact it was one of the two starting games that made our Warcraft 3 LAN traditions, the other was Enfos (which was worked in later, we always played to try and survive).
As time rolled by and MM&M slowly died it stayed strong with our small closely knitted group and we continued to play online, hosting and teaching people how to play and how to enjoy the slowly developing destructive power of the spellcasting system. When Blizzard released the in-famed 'Mod-killing' patch which rendered MM&M unplayable we tried to launch a Hami server for MM&M, in the end it never did fly and the loss was so appalling we nearly shed tears over it. We started M&M around that time, enthralled with Zync's other masterpiece, sure we were still sad over the loss of MM&M, though M&M filled part of that void. I remember still signing on to W3 and people asking me if Zync or anyone else on the team was going to make a new MM&M to go over the issues of Blizzard's patch. I remember speaking in All friend chat explaining to people that the patch rendered all the programming on the spell system to a point where it was beyond most repair and that they would need to start a new one. The same person was always on, always asked me every day if a new version was in site. Oh my.. I am actually crying.. Smile on my face and tears rolling down my cheeks... Anyways, as I was going to say, one day I brought up 8.00 as a possible release since I saw it brought up on the forum, everyone on my friends' list at the time more-or-less cheered. I was going to head over to my best friend's house to crack open a beer or something along those lines, it was rather humorous, we were blind at that point. We even were thinking of trying to fix it ourselves, though it never felt right. Even if MM&M would be developed by someone other than Zync, he still always gets a lot of the credit..
M&M and MM&M were the sources of the best fun any of my friends and I had on Warcraft 3. Zync, I want to thank you so much for making them, many of the original fan base that I developed say you are too much of a slacker to care about any of your anonymous fans. I tell them he has a life, and he probably doesn't care that much for the old maps anyhow.. There are three people who agree with what I have to say next, and this includes my best friend:
Zync, it doesn't matter what you do, we care about what you have done in the past and will always remember you for that. We thank you for MM&M and M&M.
- A former Warcraft 3 Vet and proud Zync admirer.
PS. I won't bother you again, I just wanted you to know that there are many other people besides those on this site that thank you for the work you and your friends have done for the mod community. If anyone posts a reply, I suppose I'll stop by to read it, otherwise that is one of my little stories. It is almost 1 in the morning, so I best make my exit..
