PostSubject: Hero Suggestion - Lightwave   Hero Suggestion - Lightwave EmptySun Dec 13, 2009 10:37 am

Lightwave, the Light Entity [Hellbourne]
Ranged Intelligence
Hero Suggestion - Lightwave LightWarrior
Story
Born of sunlight itself, Lightwave is powered by the beams that travel through the sky. He can manipulate the rays of light in whichever way he pleases. After many years of the sun depriving him of his light, night after night, Lightwave learned how to manipulate darkness as well... and now uses his knowledge to fight for the Hellbourne.
Role
Lightwave is a strong ganker. His skillset allows for quick entrance and exit from battle.
Stats
Attack Range: 280 (ranged)
Attack Animation: 0.42/0.58
Base Armor: 0.9
Base Magic Armor: 5.5
Base Damage: 46-47
Base Movement Speed: 300
Strength - 19 + 1.8
Agility - 14 + 1.5
Intelligence - 22 + 2.7
Overall - 55 + 6.0

Skillset

Hero Suggestion - Lightwave ArclightningPiercing Light [Q]
Lightwave sends his light around an enemy, dealing extra damage and re-materializing on the other side.
Type: Magic. Attack Modifier.
Damage: Attack + Bonus 20/40/60/80 Physical damage.
Location Offset: 100 units on the other side of the target.
Cast Range: 180 units.
Cooldown: 10/8/6/4 seconds.
Mana Cost: 20/23/26/29 mana.
Think of Night Hound's Blink Strike skill. He teleports behind the enemy. This is kind of like that, only that instead of teleporting to their back, you teleport to the other side of them from where you're standing. Somewhat like what Panda's Flick does to the enemy, but it does it to you (without the slow & armor reduction). That's pretty much the best explanation I can give.

Hero Suggestion - Lightwave LightningorbLight Missile [W]
Lightwave bends his body into a sphere, which he then projects in the given direction. Upon impact, the sphere will break and the light will explode, affecting all nearby enemy units.
Type: Magic. Target Position.
Damage: 70/130/180/230 Magic damage.
Slow: -20/25/30/35% movement speed.
Slow Duration: 3 seconds.
Projectile Radius: 90 units.
Impact Radius: 350 units.
Projectile Speed: 500 units per second.
Maximum Distance: 1500 units. (Lasts 3 seconds)
Cast Range: 1500 units.
Cooldown: 25 seconds.
Mana Cost: 100/115/130/145 mana.
This spell is a little difficult to explain. It pretty much turns Lightwave into a projectile. It then travels 1500 units in the given direction or until it impacts, like Valkyrie's Javelin. Then, when it impacts, it returns Lightwave back to his normal form. It then does damage and slows in an AoE around Lightwave.

Hero Suggestion - Lightwave EnergyblastFlashing Strikes [E]
Lightwave wraps his light around his closest enemy, dealing damage and blinding them, then moving on to the next closest target.
Type: Magic. Self Position.
Damage: 50/100/150/200 Magic damage.
Miss Chance: 100% chance to miss on attack.
Miss Chance Duration: 2 seconds.
Initial Radius: 300/350/400/450 units.
Chain Radius: 200/250/300/350 units.
Maximum Chains: 3/4/5/6 units.
Cooldown: 13 seconds.
Mana Cost: 85 mana.
This spell acts like a no-target Chain Lightning. It chains to the closest unit to Lightwave at the time of casting, dealing damage and blinding them. It then moves on to the closest unit to the unit you just chained to and damages/blinds them. Keep in mind that no unit can be chained to more than once.

Hero Suggestion - Lightwave TeinaiswindLight Form [R]
Lightwave intensifies the light that he is, allowing him to see further and reduce stun durations.
Type: Superior Magic. Self Position.
Sight Radius: 2000/2500/3000
Stun Reduction: -20/35/50% stun durations.
Effects: True Sight.
Duration: 7/9/11 seconds.
Cooldown: 130 seconds.
Mana Cost: 125/175/225 mana.
After a short time, it creates a gadget which reveals a large area around you. It sees over trees, cliffs, units, everything. Pretty much like a flying unit with a huge sight radius. Beyond that it also reduces stun durations by the given amount, much like Pebble's Armor. Also provides true sight. The vision follows you when you move.

Hmm, interesting hero.

Few comments.

1. 2 second blink strike? Low mana cost? What's the cast range? I assume that's the downside.

2. Light beam seems over powered. Think Jakiro with the ability to change direction?

3. I'm not exactly sure what he's supposed to be? A Ganker/Semi-carry?

Seems fun, but why does a ranged INT hero need TWO blink skills?

280 range is barely ranged though.

Piercing Light level 4 is the ultimate chasing skill. Even with short range, (maybe 400?) it would still be pwnage. 2 second cooldown and 30 mana cost + significant damage boost makes it pretty much impossible to escape him. (And he's got a 1500 range blink if he needs it to intercept you if you blink away.)

Will update. It's 180 cast range. Also, I've made a few changes.

It requires 1 second to change direction AND is channeling. Think Sand King's ultimate. It requires 1 second before you start, which will then start cooldown if someone stuns you. On top of that, you also need to channel for that 5 seconds, which means you can be stunned during THAT time as well to stop it. That's why it deals such high damage. It has no stun attached.

His ultimate (Light Beam) should be changed. On one hand it's overpowered as a skill (damage potential is very very high), on the other it lacks synergy with the rest of his skills and he has no disable to truly be able to use it. A mobile hero with a channeling skill lacks sense.

I think doing so will also help define his role as it's not really what you say it is.
