| *sigh* We had a black, flat-faced cat in front of our house, so we took him/her and gave it some food and water. We examined it, and we think it may have AIDS. My family has cat-allergies, so we can't possibly take it in, and if we bring it to the humane society, and it does have AIDS, they'll put it down. If it doesn't, they probably will, anyways, with the rough shape it's in at the moment.
The only way it could possibly live in the humane society, is if it didn't have AIDS, and they recognized its worth. It's flat-face-ness is a trait of the 'Exotic' cat type, which is a minimum of 400$. That's the only way it could possibly be saved. Cats with AIDS, (FIV for cats), are automatically youthinized.
Right now, it's got a huge gash of missing skin on its belly, sores under its fur, probable fleas, goo coming out of its eyes, mouth and nose, its hair all messed up, (but that may just be from being a stray), and some strange skin by its gash that really makes you want to avoid it.

| Umm... Well if the cat does in fact have FIV regardless of it's exotic traits, it can't reproduce due to the fact that the FIV will just be passed on, to both the female (if the cat is male) that the cat is reproducing with, as well as the litter that they would have. And I do not know if anyone would be interested in adopting a cat in the condition this new cat appears to be in, although if he/she was tested negative for FIV then someone might be interested in cleaning him/her up and keeping her. It's terrible, but if the cat does have FIV, then I don't think that theres anything you can do for it. | |

Yes, so it appears. As I said, the only way it's not going to be put down is if it doesn't have FIV, and they can fix whatever infections it has relatively cheap.

| Went to the humane society, and gave it to them. They didn't even check if it had FIV; they just took in its face with the goo, and the gash on its belly and decided it wasn't worth it. They didn't even tell us they were going to youthinize it, but rather said, "Sorry for your loss." | |

| You had to correct the grieving person's spelling, huh?
I had no idea there was such a thing as FIV... where did that come from?

Heya, thanks. I couldn't figure out how to spell it. Wikipedia: FIV was first discovered in 1986 in a colony of cats that had a high prevalence of opportunistic infections and degenerative conditions, and has since been identified as an endemic disease in domestic cat populations worldwide. The cat was probably the ugliest cat I've ever seen, with its fur a complete mess, and its face the flattest face I've ever seen, (it had to put its entire head in a food bowl or a water bowl to get anything; when it stopped drinking, its entire head would be dripping water), and its tail looked like a duster, but I could definitely see why someone would've wanted it for its attitudes. It also use to be a house cat, because its paws were de-clawed, and the tail recently trimmed. We also saw another stray cat on the way to the library. Gosh, the world sucks.

I hear Venus is nice this time of year, as long as you catch the good weather.

I hear Venus is nice this time of year, as long as you catch the good weather. Fun Fact: Venus is currently the planet we will most likely find life on that's still living, even though Mars takes the cake for that which WAS living.

| Don't you mean the moon of Venus, Sinister? Venus itself is a gas giant that I highly doubt could support life. However, the watery moon that MIGHT get enough sunlight is much more likely. | |

I think you're confused, Jupiter is the planet that has Europa. Venus is the planet closer to the sun than us that has a ridiculous atmosphere.

| yes, but we actually have found another type of lifeform that lives on the lava vents in the Atlantic, which could possibly survive on venus. | |

| Right, no... it's the same sort of life that could exist on Europa because that place is filled with water and has volcanic vents like on Earth... I don't know much about Venus itself, but I do feel a little like life is simply unsustainable there. | |
