New On The RTS Scene

Battle Forge is a new RTS on the scene of online games. It was previously a game where you had to buy your cards, or units, to play the game... however it has now changed to an online free to play game. Apparently, according to my sources, it's become very popular very fast and I've been personally given a review that it's a very good game.

I've not tried it yet, but I plan to. The 500 KB/sec download for 2.8 GB isn't very appealing to wait through, so that's one of the downsides I see to it so far. However, I bring this to your attention because I think it might be a game we could all enjoy, really. If all else fails, I know Dragonheart will be all over it, I'd guess.

You know that's kind of a semantics disagreement, yeah? Do you know or do you guess? Perhaps they aren't mutually exclusive, but they seem so to me. Unless you guessed you'd know or know you'd guessed. hum, yeah, like that. It made sense earlier.

Why would I be all over it? I don't really like RTS games.

It combines trading card games with RTS's. From what I've seen of you, you enjoy things with Trading Card games attached to it.

I do enjoy CCGs, but that game is almost purely RTS. The card game element is VERY small and mostly to do with the trading. The trading is NOT what I like about card games, in fact it's my least favorite part. So it's my least favorite part of CCGs + mostly RTS gameplay. Not interested.

I've actually tried this game... It's pretty boring. Dreamlords is still better. All you do in Battleforge is click cards at the bottom of your screen, and you click where to place the unit represented as the card. It's basically a WCIII summon battle, it doesn't even seem like you're using cards, but just icons (spells like WC3).
