| Based off of this poll, I decided to create this debate. The debate is for your opinion of what your favorite superhero is, because the strongest probably isn't what you have as your favorite. For me, my favorite is Predator. | |

| Not really a debate. Spiderman/Batman. Realistic, flawed, relatable characters, and when they accomplish something it's an actual accomplishment. | |

| I hate them all. Super-hero movie/books always seem to me to be a cheap knock-off of a fiction fantasy when the creators can't create a world of their own. | |

| Isn't Predator a destructive alien entity?
You're right, this isn't much of a debate... more of a geek competition.
Spider-man is too emo for my tastes... at least the movie version of him.
Superman is hacked. He can't die unless you have a green, glowing rock. Silly at best, lack of creativity at all at worst.
Most heroes nowadays are cardboard cutouts given super powers and the ability to never die. I'm more of a fan of the anti-hero. Unfortunately, I have a life and don't know crap about most of these superheroes so I will have to not vote on the basis of ignorance.

| Agreed, Predator is not a "hero".
Spiderman in the movie is emo, but that's because they used a mediocre actor and made him younger. Spiderman is supposed to be mid-twenties with much more serious basically everything. (Although his humor even in the midst of these serious things and his complete almost complete denial of any bad situation are what make him awesome.) Spiderman has HUGE responsibilities and accepts them. However, he still wants to be happy and live his life so he tries to keep things light and not dwell on the bad things in his life. The movie Spiderman totally lost that part so that when he's serious he seems emo and soap-opera-ish and when he's funny he just seems flippant.
Superman was one of the first heroes and that's why he was so badly done. He was extremely creative because they had no template before him. But yes, I agree that he's a terribly done hero and has no place in modern fiction.
The best heroes are those that have moral conflicts just as large as their physical conflicts and only have weak super powers so that they rely more on intelligence and inner spirit more than just "har har you can't kill me!" or "IMA FIRIN MY LAZAH!"

| Which is why Batman and Spiderman are good, and you don't even have to be a nerd as there are major and recent Hollywood movies for them . Superman is a hack. He's not relatable so he sucks. | |

| See: The Watchmen Comic Totally badass, no one has super powers, but the moral and such conflicts are lry deep. Not to mention its a comic book, and so they can do stuff you cant do in a novel/movie. | |

Totally badass, no one has super powers, but the moral and such conflicts are lry deep. Not to mention its a comic book, and so they can do stuff you cant do in a novel/movie. Dr Manhattan doesn't have super powers? I must through out there, that while I agree Superman is a hack, he allows for stories that no other superhero allows. Think about it this way: Peter Parker's secret identity is Spiderman Bruce Wain's secret identity is Batman Superman's secret identity is Kent Clark In essence, Superman is backwards from other superheroes ( although Rorschach in Watchmen arguably shares this persona ). He IS Superman, he doesn't disguise himself as Superman. You have to respect the character concept for that at the least. Think about it. When Peter Parker "becomes" Spiderman he acts like he believes a hero should. But Superman is Superman, and as such, when he "becomes" Clark Kent, he acts in the manner that he thinks humans are. Even though his only real disguise are those glasses, no one ever thinks that the clumsy, frail, stuttering, helpless Kent Clark is Superman, and that is how he sees humanity. It makes some great stories.

| You bring up a good point. I agree, however though it does make for potential good stories, and it is different from the norm (Which is odd, since he was the, or one of the first) the stories themselves aren't as good, in my opinion of course, of Spidermans or Batmans. I do however, like Lex Luther more than any of the Spiderman/Batman villains, for the same reasons I like Spiderman/Batman. Because of his relatableness, and his humanness. | |

| Yes, Manhattan's superpower (according to the movie) is to have a gigantic blue cock. But that's not the point.
As much as I'd like to agree with you about the whole human pretending to be thing, Zync, I have to ultimately disagree. To me, it seems that there really isn't much of a story about how Clark Kent acts - there are stories about how superman defeats people, but there really isn't much of a story about Clark Kent's psychology. Of course, I don't much care for superman so I haven't actually read much so please correct me if I'm wrong about this.

| Actually, Zync, if you knew about Clark's early life, you'd put him in the same category as every other superhero. He is Clark Kent who is secretly Superman. He simply grows that role throughout his ENTIRE life and therefore is able to balance both personas better than any other hero. | |

| Not really. He's well played in the movie, but as an idea, as a concept, Lex Luther is cooler. | |
