| Okay so here are the steps I took.
1) Start photoshop. 2) Open file. 3) Realize the file is in index format (bad for editting in blending transparency, meaning it only shows transparency for pixel exact transparency... basically useless) 4) Ctrl-A and then Ctrl-C to copy the entire image. 5) Create new image. 6) Paste new image. 7) Create a new layer and move it under the image (transparent layer) 8) Select quick-selection tool (brush size 1 px) 9) Navigate the quick-selector around the tiger and undo pixel locations that it accidentally selects (aka places that you still want visible... note: photoshop is pretty smart and it will know where the edges of the object are, as well as memorizing pixel colors that you told it not to auto select in the future. As you use this tool, it will learn based on how you act with it.) 10) After satisfied with a general outline of the black lines around tiger, Ctrl-C to copy and open a new image, pasting it in that new image. 11) Create a transparent layer and place it under the tiger image. 12) Apply 'stroke' blending to the tiger image (1 px, 100% opac, black, color, inside)
Boom. Done. | |

Select quick selection tool? What's that?
Use it to undo pixel locations? Um, what?

| When using this tool, hold SHIFT to add more pixels to the selection and use ALT to remove pixels from the selection. Removed pixels will be memorized by the program and will not be auto-selected again. | |

| That's okay. You can still use the magic selection tool, but it will take more manual work to get the edges well selected.
The extra white dots that get left behind get removed by the stroke effect.

| Okay, I need help on this now. I have a problem with the tail. It looks horrible. I love the rest of the body, but the tail just, er...fails, Okay, I removed the entire thing with eraser, and I start out on scratch, and I just make a basic outline. No matter how many times I try, it doesn't get any better. It's so jagged. I need it to look more realistic. Can someone tell me how to do this? P.S. Forget the white dots. I don't need help with that, anymore, | |

| That's not what I'm asking for. I want to know how to make it less jagged in general.
I don't want to have to copy something from another image. I want to be able to make it less jagged without cheating. I don't want you to do it, I just want to know how to do it when making an image, lol

Okay...lol, I'll ask in understandable sentences this time, XD. I have the tail from the picture I tried, (and failed), to remove the background from. Pretend this is the original, and there's no way to fix the tail besides manual editing. What tool(s) would I use to make it less jagged?

What tool(s) would I use to make it less jagged? Manual editing is more reliable, and easier to get what you want. That's what I'd do.
