Alright well here is another topic from the past that got deleted. Things that will make the rpg side of the game worth playing cause right now the only reason to play really is the great war.

Events: upon the great war ending you find there is a great evil actually trying to destroy the world. While the 2 factions were fighting on another the evil has slowly corrupted a large number of the creeps on the island. You are no charged to protect the ancient tree from the onslaught else the evil will take control of all the magics in the island and you and your fellow mages will be enslaved. Have 20 waves of creeps, the stats of the creeps based on the levels of the mages. Every wave, items are dropped that allow you to make items with 1 time spells that vary from each of the elemental books. The items are 1 time use and cannot be saved.

After the above event you must go and destroy the evils guardians and then the evil itself. To gian passage to the guardians the town will work together and open the portals, but you must do their tasks so they can do their part in opening the gates. (you have to do so many quests to open a portal.)

The bosses upon defeat will drop completed spell items for use against the final boss.

The final boss will drop the only save-able item spells

So like an alternate mode? Like a bit of a hero defense? We do already have a town, just take off the invulnerability, trigger waves, and add bosses, and you've got sometime.

It's at least something to think about for the future.

it would occur after the great war, which would mean the great war would have to become an all or nothing sort of thing.

id want something to be linked to winning and losing the war post war. A Rpg solution that involves benefits for winning and cons for losing would be ideal.

Your idea diaster sounds like a mini game of sorts.

so we're talking about making the game even longer? People can't stay through an entire war, let alone another couple defense waves after that.

Would it be possible to base the size of waves on # of mages remaining? thats the only way i see this happening cuz at least half the players you start with would leave at end of war.

I agree with Dragonheart. There is no way the game could last any longer then it already does. In some great wars, I'll be in there for an hour and a half if teams are balanced. The alternate game mode would allow for choosing one or the other so that your not stuck in there for 5 hours. Very cool idea with the hero defense type of thing.
