Hey who remembers this suggestion, one of the cooler suggestions I was always sad that sin never added.
Static Charge: Drains 10 mana a second, while active. Every 3 seconds the energy built up by this skill discharges striking the nearest enemy within 300 with a 1/2 power lightning strike. If the mage is killed while under this effect all the mages power discharges on the killing unit dealing (current static charge) damage.

the idea of a penalty on someone killing you is a kind of lame idea, especially on an element that has one of the highest power multipliers on a basic spell, and the highest skill based power increase.

well lightning was the sniper class, the point was to make you want to hesitate about killing them, now that they are closer to fire and ice, they are almost always in close combat and the skill really should be changed to reflect the current mage imo.
